Sea side B sides
This was made in about 2008. I wanted to do a profile on durban based musician Aidan Cornhill but it kind of just turned into an advert for his then new album 'sea side b sides'. I was really stoked with how the stop motion stuff came out. (speaking of stop motion stuff, i just watched 'Fantastic Mr Fox' the other day... incredible... Wes Anderson is my favorite auteur/director of all time). I always find it strange and fun how projects twist and morph as they move from script form through to the finished product... this for example was supposed to be an epic documentary style profile and some how became this short little advert for an album. I made Aidan sit under these searing bright lights, on a Durban summer day, for like an hour, answering loads of questions. the poor fellow almost spontaneously combusted and I ended up only using a minute of the interview... sorry Aidan.
This is, and your watching.....
Having finished studying, I have a few projects sitting around that didn't ever really get to see the light of day. I'll be releasing them and other things that i find interesting here within the magical world of fredric jackson films entertainment blogging corperation of wonderfulness. enjoy....
